Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Our Safe Reopening

All Washoe County Library System branches are again providing patrons with our full array of services. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Washoe County Library System committed itself to a safe reopening that protects our patrons, staff, and community. You can see the official reopening plan that returned us to full service here.

For those who wish to socially distance, we are continuing to provide appropriate resources and services, including our digital library, virtual events and galleries, and lockers and drive-up windows for physical items pickup.

Material Pickup and Returns

You are welcome to again browse our stacks to find books to check out. You can also place holds online and pick your items up at any branch you choose. Some branches have pickup windows or lockers, which allow you to collect your items without entering a library. View all branch hours and find branches with lockers and pickup windows here.

Book drops are now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week at all library branches. Please use the book drops only to return library materials; we are unable to accept donated items or read and share items in book returns. If an item is rejected by the automated material handler, please return the item to a staff member during open hours.

Events and Meeting Rooms

While continuing to offer online events, we are also now hosting in-person events in our branches. Currently we require advance registration for all in-person events. Find upcoming events on our calendar. Public meeting rooms are available at select branches. You can check availability and make a reservation here.

Computers and Technology

All branches offer on-site printing services and computer usage. Create new or work on existing files from your own USB drive or cloud storage. You can browse the internet and print from the library’s computers, or you can bring in your own notebook, tablet, or smartphone to print documents. See available branch hours here.

Please contact us if you need assistance with any of our services. Help is available by email or telephone.
