Drop in anytime on Saturdays to play any number of our games and puzzles, including yard-sized versions of your favorite games. Fun for all ages!

Every Saturday we offer a fun activity for the family. These activities are best for children ages 4 and up and their favorite grown-ups. Adults must be accompanying a child to attend. 

First Saturday: Art Studio 

These events are first come, first served. Spots are limited based on available supplies.

Sparks Library's ongoing computer classes are designed to give beginners a proper introduction to various computer programs and actions. This class will be taught in Spanish. In this class, students will learn the following:

• Hardware and software, mouse skills, saving
• Keyboard, more hardware and software, Microsoft Office suite, typing practice
• Operating systems, Windows, file organization, recycle bin, drives
• Help and search, settings, accessibility, review and practice

Prerequisites: None

Seating is limited. Registration is required.

It's time for the 2025 Color our World Summer Reading Challenge! Join us for a kickoff party to celebrate the start of your summer of reading! Register for the challenge to claim your free sign-up prize and enjoy a variety of colorful activities. 

Come to the library's third annual block party! There will be activities and information booths from organizations around town. Sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge and get a free book. Grab a few friends, play a game or two of cornhole, get a free hot dog, and enjoy fun summertime activities, including:

The Four Seasons book club meets on the first Saturday of each month. This month, we will be reading Klara and the Sun by Kazou Ishiguro.

The Nevada Historical Society's building may be closed for an exciting remodel, but you can still enjoy their fascinating lectures at the Sierra View Library during their closure. NHS Nevada History - On The GO! Series is combining their three history programs that delve into Nevada History, Lake Tahoe, and the American Gaming Archives gambling and gaming history. Make sure to visit Sierra View Library on the first Saturday of every month to learn more about Nevada’s history through these engaging talks that are geared towards audiences of all ages.

Speaker: Deborah Fox, historian, author, and artist

Title of Talk: Boundary Boondoggle: The Chaos and Confusion of the California/Nevada Border Summary of Talk: Deborah A. Fox’s colorful presentation about the oblique line of the Nevada/California border and the disastrous 1861 Boundary Reconnaissance, complete with camels, lost guides, and a villain.

Speaker Bio: Deb Fox is a historian, mixed-media artist, and designer with an accomplished career in film and television, earning two Emmy nominations. Fox’s career expanded to writing and directing commercials and corporate content.

Her first graphic novel, Everett Massacre: A Graphic Novel, won a Washington Museum Association Award. The Man Who Beat Death Valley, based on the TRUE STORY of William Lewis Manly, is her second graphic novel about real-life hero William Lewis Manly. It has won rave reviews, a North Street Book Prize, and a National Indie Excellence Award.

She now enjoys using her creative energies as a graphic novelist. When she isn’t researching or making art, Deb enjoys hiking, camping, cycling, and taking road trips with her husband.

Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, this event offers an opportunity to test your skills, learn new tactics, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow chess aficionados. Each week includes lessons, guidance, analysis, and puzzles to help build your knowledge, and then features friendly over-the-board chess play.

Are you a BrickHead? Do you want to build with others? Join us as we provide weekly challenges for you to get creative and meet with others who love to build! 

All ages and skill levels are welcome. Come and learn chess basics including the names and moves of each piece. For more advanced players, take your game to the next level by developing winning strategies and tactics. Each week will feature friendly over-the-board chess play in a relaxed low-stakes setting.

Marie Nygren's Nevada's 17 Counties exhibit features photographs from all 17 of Nevada's counties. Visit the Incline Village Library this May-June during open hours to see the gallery.

Nicole Donnelly’s artworks explore how humans connect with both real and imagined landscapes. Using painting, printmaking, and book arts, her process mimics natural effects like layering and erosion, inviting viewers to navigate these pathways.

In Drift, Donnelly examines the experience of navigating vast landscapes, drawing parallels between desert and ocean environments.

Drift runs from Saturday, May 3 through Sunday, June 22, 2024.

The public are invited to meet the artist and discuss their process at the art reception on Saturday, May 17 from 1pm - 2pm.
