Chevy Lewis sentenced to more than 11 years in prison.

Reno, Nevada.  April 9, 2015.  Second District Judge Flanagan sentenced 29-year-old Chevy James Lewis to eleven and a half years in prison for the offense of Home Invasion which occurred Nov. 14, 2014 at a Washoe County Deputy Sheriff’s residence. Lewis kicked a door in causing damage and stole a shotgun which was later sold and has not been recovered. The victim was not home at the time.  It is not believed Lewis and his accomplice knew the resident was a Deputy Sheriff. Lewis is a repeat offender having suffered eight prior felony convictions in California, including convictions for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Burglary and Theft. Lewis had only been in Reno less than six months.  He will be eligible for parole consideration after serving four and a half years. Lewis apologized for his actions prior to the Judge pronouncing sentence. His conviction was the result of a plea of guilty.

An accomplice will be sentenced on April 29, 2015.

Any questions should be addressed to Deputy District Attorneys, Katherine Lyon at the District Attorney’s Office at 775.328.3200.
