Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Washoe County is seeking applications to serve on the Washoe County Planning Commission

Vacancy to represent Commission District 2 on the Commission.

Reno, Nevada. June, 3 2015.  Washoe County Community Services Department, Planning and Development Division is accepting applications for persons living in the unincorporated portion of Washoe County (Commission District 2) to serve on the Washoe County Planning Commission.

Unincorporated District 2 generally includes the Southeast Truckee Meadows/Hidden Valley and Virginia Foothills areas and Southwest Truckee Meadows/Mt Rose and Callahan Ranch/Washoe Valleys Areas. The Planning Commission regularly meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Washoe County Commission Chambers.  At times, special meetings of the Commission may be called by the Chair. The Commission hears and decides on applications for abandonments, certain special use permits, and tentative subdivisions; it also makes recommendations concerning the County’s Master Plan, regulatory zone changes, and County’s land use regulations. Meetings average two to three hours in duration. The appointment is for a full four-year term beginning July 1, 2015, and ending June 30, 2019.

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants for the Planning Commission must be residents of unincorporated Washoe County and the area from which they are to be appointed (District 2).  They must also be registered voters.
