Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Red Flag Warnings in effect through Saturday

Register for CODE RED alerts to your cell phone.

Reno, Nevada. June 26, 2015. The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for the area through Saturday evening. A Fire Weather Watch is also in effect Saturday evening through Sunday evening. Thunderstorms producing dry lightning should be expected. These storms may produce outflow winds of up to 50-60 MPH according to the National Weather Service.

Smoke from the Washington Fire will likely remain in the Truckee Meadows basin Friday along with triple digit temperatures.

Thunderstorms will transition to being mainly wet on Sunday with an increasing risk of localized flash flooding that could continue on and off much of next week.  Charles Moore, Fire Chief for Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) urges all Washoe County residents to register for CODE RED alerts to your cell phone.
