To help move target shooters off the hills and onto the range, the shooting range is open Fourth of July.

Reno, Nevada. June 30, 2015. The Washoe County Regional Shooting Range will now be open on all holidays, including the Fourth of July holiday this Saturday, as part of ongoing efforts to get target shooters out of the hills and onto the range.

Range hours are Friday through Monday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., including holidays.

Temperatures are forecast to stay in the triple digits this week, bringing increased fire danger to the region’s outdoor recreation areas. Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen and Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Chief Charles Moore wholeheartedly commended the County’s decision to open the shooting range on holidays to provide target shooters with a safe alternative.

Sheriff Allen and Chief Moore encourage recreational shooters to help reduce fire danger over the Fourth of July weekend by taking advantage of this opportunity.

The County’s Regional Shooting Facility is located north of Spanish Springs at 21555 Pyramid Highway. The facility has six ranges for use by the public. Scopes, ear protection and targets are available for nominal fees.
