Washoe County District Attorney's Office Announces Man Pleads Guilty to Disturbing Joint Meeting

October 2, 2015
Reno, Nevada

The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office announced today that Ross Tisevich has pled guilty to a charge of disturbing a meeting. Sentencing will take place on November 3, 2015 in Reno Justice Court.

Ross Tisevich, 28 (DOB 3/2/87), from Fallon entered a plea of guilty Wednesday morning to one count of Disturbing a Meeting, a misdemeanor.  The case began on September 21, 2015 when Tisevich was arrested for attempting to drink purported Round-Up weed killer at the concurrent meeting of the Reno and Sparks City Councils and Washoe County Commission.  The incident took place at the Board of County Commission Chambers and closed the building for a number of hours.  Tisevich was initially arrested for Disbursing a Hoax Substance, a felony.  The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office conducted the subsequent investigation and submitted the case to this Office.  Prosecutors reviewed the case and determined that the evidence did not support the more serious felony charge and the decision was made to charge it as a misdemeanor. Joseph Benedickt, who was arrested with Tisevich, was not charged by this office.

Tisevich faces up to 6 months in the Washoe County jail and/or a $1000 fine.
