Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is now recruiting volunteer firefighters.

Reno, Nevada. Feb. 16, 2016. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) is recruiting volunteer firefighters.

Volunteers help augment career firefighters with weather emergencies, emergency medical services, wildland/structure firefighting, vehicle accident response, as well as logistical support. Truckee Meadows professional firefighters and volunteer station managers provide hands-on training opportunities along with online training for those interested in volunteering. We are seeking volunteers to help our local communities in the North Valleys (Verdi, Silver Lake, Lemmon Valley, and Palomino Valley), in the South Valleys (Pleasant Valley and Washoe Valley) and other neighboring areas.

Interested parties must be at least 18 and able to pass a physical in order to respond to an active emergency scene. Those who are interested in providing non-operational support outside of active emergency scenes are welcome as auxiliary volunteers.
