Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Women’s Tea Party honors community leaders and philanthropists

Reno, Nevada. March 30, 2016. The City of Reno Parks, Recreation, and Community Services department’s Senior Services Division will be celebrating National Women’s History Month on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11 a.m.

What: Women’s Tea Party, Luncheon, and Beautiful Hat Show

When: Thursday, March 31, 2016 (tomorrow) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Evelyn Mount Northeast Community Center (1301 Valley Road in Reno)

Who: Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and other women community leaders

The event will include 14 honorees, including Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, to be recognized for their service and commitment to women. Judge Dorothy Nash Holmes will also be recognized, as well as Evelyn Mount herself.

The event theme is, “Working to Form a More Perfect Union: Honoring Women in Public Service and Government.” The keynote speaker is Bertha Mullins, a long-time Reno resident and VP of Community Outreach for Wells Fargo.

Note: Washoe County Assistant Manager Joey Orduna Hastings will also be honored at the event.
