Washoe County joins NACo in celebrating National County Government Month

April is National County Government Month.

Reno, Nevada. April 1, 2016. Each April, the National Association of Counties (NACo) celebrates county governments nationwide. This year’s National County Government Month theme is “Safe and Secure Counties.” Washoe County is building a safe and secure community by managing justice systems, bolstering  economic  opportunities,  responding  to  natural disasters and facilitating emergency management response.

Like so many great counties in the country, Washoe County has dedicated staff who take pride in the services they provide our citizens. The Board of County Commissioners will also show their support when they proclaim April 2016 as National County Government Month at the Board of County Commissioners meeting Tuesday, April 19.

In an effort to make sure this point resonates with the Washoe County citizens we serve, the Office of the County Manager launched a social media campaign in conjunction with National County Government Month, highlighting several ways our departments are helping citizens. The campaign started April 1 and will continue throughout the month using #WashoeImpacts. Feel free to share information about Washoe County.
