Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

A memorial service for former SFPD Chief Mike Greene is Saturday, April 16, 2016.

Reno, Nevada. April 13, 2016. The public and media are invited to a memorial service for former Sierra Fire Protection District (SFPD) Chief Mike Greene Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 12 p.m. The service will be held at the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District’s (TMFPD) Fire Station 36 in Arrowcreek.

A celebration of life and potluck will follow the memorial service at 3 p.m. at Eagles Hall, on 1380 East 5th St., Carson City, Nevada.

“Chief Mike Greene was a forward thinking leader who advanced fire based paramedicine. What he accomplished at Sierra Fire Protection District as SFPD Chief from 2007 to 2011 set the stage for our entire service area,” Chief Charles Moore said. “Chief Greene was also instrumental in the construction of the Arrowcreek Fire Station, having authored a grant for its cost. Although I met Mike only briefly, I remain impressed with his accomplishments, his leadership and his entire career of selfless service to the public.”

When: Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 12 p.m.

Parking is available at Hunsberger Elementary School.  Limited parking is also available along Thomas Creek Rd.  

 A shuttle will be provided between Hunsberger Elementary School and Arrowcreek Fire Station beginning at 11:30 a.m. and following the memorial service.
