Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Images reveal impressions youth have about health in our community

RENO, NV - Truckee Meadows Healthy Communities (TMHC) and the Washoe County Health District will host a PhotoVoice event to reveal the results of a PhotoVoice project that has occurred over the last few months. The event is free and open to the public.

WHEN: Monday, April 18, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m

WHERE: Washoe County Health District, 1001 East Ninth Street, Building B, Auditoriums A and B, Reno, NV 89512

WHAT: Youth from the 89502 community have been participating in a PhotoVoice project that has involved taking pictures and videos that capture areas in their community that both threaten and promote health. The primary areas of focus for the project include food, health, education, employment/income, and housing. This event is the unveiling of the project to the community. Participants in the project will share their stories and show their videos and photos. This project and presentations are meant to bring the realities of their lives to the public and to the policy makers who can spur change toward a healthier community.

WHO: Truckee Meadows Healthy Communities and youth community members from the 89502 zip code area. The zip code 89502 is the focus of a targeted effort to collect data and identify needs to create lasting change and healthier outcomes for members of the community.
