31,000 food items were donated through the food drive.

Reno, Nevada. Dec. 12, 2016. For the seventh year, the Public Defender Office, Alternate Public Defender's Office and the District Attorney's Office held a friendly competition to see which group could contribute the most food items to the Northern Nevada Food Bank’s Food Drive.

This year, the Public Defender/Alternate Public Defender's Office were declared the winners of the 2016 DA vs Defenders Food Drive, raising 4,193 items of the total 5,478 food items donated. Since the challenge began, about 31,000 food items have been donated by the three offices. All offices agree that the Northern Nevada Food Bank and the Reno-Sparks community are the ultimate winners.
