Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Human Services Network announces winners of 28th Annual Human Services Awards

Commission Chair Kitty Jung named Politician of the Year.

Reno, Nevada. Dec. 28, 2016. After a record number of nominations were made for the second year in a row (we exceeded last year’s total nominations by nearly 25 percent), it is with great pleasure that we announce the winners of the 28th Annual Human Services Awards:

  • Student Volunteer of the Year: Lesili Pousima, Hug High School
  • Politician of the Year: Commissioner Kitty Jung, Washoe County Board of Commissioners
  • Board Member of the Year: Harriet Cummings, Community Chest, Inc.
  • Staff Member of the Year: Lisa Lee, Northern Nevada HOPES
  • Administrator of the Year: Stacy Smith, Nye Communities Coalition
  • Agency of the Year: The Solace Tree
  • Michael O'Callaghan Humanitarian Award: Sharon Chamberlain

The event will be held in the Capri Ballroom at the Peppermill Resort and Casino on Thursday, Jan. 12 from 8 to 10 a.m. Individual and table ticket prices remain unchanged from previous years and may be purchased by going here: http://humanservicesnetwork.org/the-28th-annual-human-services-awards/. It is recommended that you purchase your tickets early as last year was a sell-out with attendance at an all-time high.
