Washoe County Library System Holds Staff Development Day

Most Libraries Will Open at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017

To foster better communication within the Library System and to facilitate improved service to the community, most Washoe County Libraries will not open until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017. There are three exceptions:  the Senior Center Library and Verdi Community Library will be closed the entire day, and the Duncan-Traner Library will open at its normal time of 3:00 p.m.  The Library Board of Trustees approved this schedule change at their April 27, 2016 meeting.

“Scheduling face-to-face meetings on a quarterly basis allows time for staff to plan for things like upcoming programs and library technology upgrades,” says Library Director, Jeff Scott.  “Limiting the meeting time to ½ days is purposeful in order to minimize library closure time.”

Patrons are advised that book drops will be available as well as the library’s website. For more information on our locations and hours, please contact us at 775-327-8300 or visit us online at www.washoecountylibrary.us.
