Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Join the District Board of Health

County Commission is accepting applications through April 7.

Reno, Nevada. March 24, 2017. The Washoe County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for a position on the District Board of Health.

District Board of Health, Washoe County Health District: Residents of Washoe County may apply for a position on the District Board of Health. The Board is responsible for oversight of the Washoe County Health District, policy development, and leadership which fosters local involvement; and for ensuring that services necessary for the protection of public health within the health district are available and equally accessible to all persons. The District Board of Health, through the Washoe County Health District, has jurisdiction over all public health matters in the Health District.

Membership: The District Board of Health is comprised of seven members with two members appointed by the County Commission (one of which is a County Commissioner). Members are appointed to a four-year term; Commissioners serve the term of their office. Each member may be re-appointed in the same manner as their original appointment to serve not more than two additional terms. No compensation is provided.

Time Commitment: The District Board of Health meets at least once a month, generally every fourth Thursday of the month at 1:00 pm.
