Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

You are invited to the Sober 24 program ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 24.

Reno, Nevada. Aug. 22, 2017. The Washoe County Human Services Agency, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Alternative Sentencing and Reno Justice Court invite you to celebrate the success of the Sober 24 program during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, at 10 a.m.

Sober 24 is a 24 hour, seven day a week monitoring program, aimed at combating alcohol and drug abuse in our community. Clients are court-ordered to the Sober 24 program, where their blood, breath, urine and other bodily substances are tested to determine if drugs and alcohol are present in the body. Sober 24 is used in pre-trial and post-conviction cases. Since January 2017, approximately 34,000 drug and alcohol tests have been conducted with a compliance rate of 98 percent. 

Sober 24 tests for the following substances and more:

-Alcohol

-Opiates

-Fentanyl

-morphine

-Heroin

-Methamphetamine
