Rotary of Reno Recognizes District Attorney's Office Investigator as "Law Enforcement Professional of the Month."

Washoe County District Attorney’s Office Investigator John “JJ” Stallings was recognized recently for his exemplary work by the Rotary Club of Reno.  Investigator Stallings has worked with the District Attorney’s Office for just over 4 years and was awarded Rotary’s “Law Enforcement Professional of the Month” honors at a recent club meeting.  The award credited Investigator Stallings for his outstanding work in the Investigations Division, which included his time working within the office’s innovative Domestic Violence Early Intervention Program.

Instituted in the fall of 2015, the District Attorney’s Office Domestic Violence Early Intervention Program established new procedures within its Investigations Division designed to enhance the prosecution of domestic violence cases through early and improved victim contact.  Investigator Stallings was the first investigator assigned to the program and he has been instrumental in its success, which has helped build improved relationships with victims and strengthen criminal cases.  Victims are sometimes reluctant to cooperate in these difficult and emotional cases. Investigator Stallings works side by side with DA Victim Advocates to build rapport and assist victims with locating resources and assistance with recovery, while at the same time improving the chances of a successful prosecution.

District Attorney Chris Hicks said, “My office continues to be committed to holding offenders accountable, while also addressing the complex needs of victims of domestic violence.  The program’s success is a direct result of Investigator Stallings’ dedication to helping victims seek the justice they deserve.
