Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Washoe County hosts Open House event for Flood Awareness Week

Reno, Nev. Nov. 16, 2017. As the region heads into the coming winter months, Washoe County is ensuring residents are aware of the measures in place to protect against the community against flood threats and what they can do to stay safe this season with a North Valleys Open House event.

Washoe County is hosting the North Valleys Winter Preparedness Open House with local experts on hand to answer questions regarding closed basin flooding and the upcoming winter plan to continue protecting the community. Resources and information for residents on how to be prepared and protect their property will also be available.  

North Valleys Winter Preparedness Open House event:

What: A preparedness event for the community to obtain information and resources to ensure they are ready for the upcoming winter season.

Who: Key Washoe County staff and experts

When: Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Where: North Valleys Community Center, 8085 Silver Lake Rd, Reno, NV 89506

Media Availability: Saturday, Nov. 18 from 9:30-10 a.m. at the North Valleys Community Center

Local Washoe County experts will be available for on camera interviews.
