2018 Theme focuses on the Underserved

Reno, Nev. April 2, 2018. Each April, the National Association of Counties (NACo) celebrates county governments nationwide. This year’s National County Government Month theme is “Serving the Underserved,” and focuses on county responses to multigenerational cycles of poverty. Washoe County is proud to celebrate by bringing awareness to the quality public services and programs many in our community rely on every day.

“Washoe County is pleased to celebrate with NACo throughout the month of April,” says Washoe County Manager, John Slaughter. “This year’s theme speaks to our core value of Quality Public Service, and we want to take every opportunity to educate our community on the programs and services we provide.”

In an effort to elevate this awareness of county programs and services, Washoe County has launched a social media campaign in conjunction with National County Government Month, highlighting how Washoe County makes an impact in the lives of our citizens. The campaign begins today, April 2, and will continue throughout the month using #WashoeImpacts and #NCGM.
