Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District Welcomes new Firefighters

Reno, Nev. June 18, 2018 – The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) will honor and welcome eight new firefighters to the District at tomorrow’s (Tuesday, June 19) Board of Fire Commissioner’s Meeting.

“We are really proud to recognize and welcome two women, and six men to the Truckee Meadows Fire Team,” said TMFPD Fire Chief Charles Moore.  “These additional fire and rescue professionals have dedicated themselves to our serving our community and will help respond to our growing emergency call volumes throughout the Truckee Meadows.”  The firefighters recently completed 12 weeks of training at the Carson City Regional Fire Academy.

 The new firefighters are as follows:

 Brandon Akers, Firefighter Paramedic

*James Brumfield, Firefighter

*Kimberly Jarding, Firefighter

*Sarah Nemeth, Firefighter

*Ryen Scannell, Firefighter

*Roger Sohler, Firefighter

Aaron Westermen-Reynolds, Firefighter Paramedic

John Williams, Firefighter Paramedic

 *Soon to have paramedic status
