KOLO TV “Fan Club” teams up with Washoe County for summer fan drive for seniors.

Reno, Nev. June 4, 2018. Hot summer days and nights can be hard on Washoe County’s elderly population. In an effort to provide some relief from the heat, KOLO Cares News Channel 8 and the Washoe County Human Services Agency (HSA) are calling on the community to donate new fans for our seniors through the month of August.

Seniors, ages 60 and older, who do not have air conditioning or are in need of a fan to help cool their home are encouraged to contact Washoe County Senior Services at (775) 328-2575 or stop by the Senior Center at 1155 E. 9th Street, Building E.

What: KOLO Summer Fan Drive for Seniors

Where: New fans must still be in the box and dropped off or picked up at the Washoe County Senior Center located at 1155 E. Ninth St., Building E, Reno.

When: June 4 through Aug. 31, 2018. Drop off or pick up between 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday

Details: Only donations of new fans in the box will be accepted. To qualify for a fan, recipients must be 60 years of age or older. Seniors without air conditioning and those who have not previously participated in the program are a priority.
