Medical Examiner identifies second person killed in Truckee plane crash

Forensic pathologist releases cause of death

Reno, Nevada. July 19, 2018. The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the person who died following a plane crash that occurred Tuesday, July 17, 2018, in Truckee, California Peter C. Jackson, 55, of West Hollywood, CA died shortly after arriving at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.

An autopsy was performed July 18 at the Medical Examiner’s Office.  The forensic pathologist performing the autopsy determined Jackson’s cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office was the responding agency to the crash in Truckee, CA, where the pilot of the single engine aircraft died on the scene.
