New app helps fast-track building inspection process

Reno, Nev. August 29, 2018. A new Building Inspections App is now available from Washoe County, creating a faster, easier and streamlined way to schedule inspections to expedite the construction process.

“With the need for construction, both residential and commercial in our region, we wanted to create a faster, user-friendly system for our community that was available 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” says Mojra Hauenstein, Director of Planning and Building at Washoe County.

The app was created to expand the tools available to request, schedule, cancel, view inspections and quickly view all building permit history with the goal of accelerating construction and completing permits efficiently. The app is free and available on the Apple or Google App Stores for contractors, sub-contractors, project managers, project supervisors and owner-builders scheduling inspections that are associated with permits.

“As our region grows, Washoe County continues to innovate its systems and practices. We are here to facilitate market demands, enable business enterprise to flourish, and collaborate with our regional partner agencies for a seamless user experience,” remarks Hauenstein.

While the community can still call the traditional phone inspection system, this phone system will go dormant on November 30, 2018. Customers can still call to speak to staff and schedule inspections by phone at 775-325-8000 or email at inspections@washoecounty.us.
