Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Dog and cats welcome for vaccinations and microchips August 7

Reno, Nev. Aug. 3, 2018. Washoe County Regional Animal Services (WCRAS) will hold a low-cost vaccination and licensing clinic for pets along with free microchips for pets residing in Washoe County.   

Low cost Vaccination Clinic for dogs and cats

WHAT:          Free microchips, low-cost vaccinations and dog licensing, hosted by WCRAS.

WHEN:          3:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2018

WCRAS staff and a contract veterinarian will be on-site to provide vaccinations and microchipping for pets. Core vaccinations are $10.00 each: Distemper/Parvo and Rabies vaccinations for dogs and FVRCP and Rabies vaccinations for cats. The Bordetella (kennel cough) booster is $20.00. The pet limit is three dogs and seven cats per residence.

Dogs over four months of age are required to be licensed in Washoe County. Dog licenses are $8.00 for dogs that are spayed/neutered, $20.00 for dogs that are not spayed/neutered.

Animal Services is dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of the animals in Washoe County. By providing vaccinations at low cost this affords the animals in our community to be protected from diseases such as Parvovirus, Distemper and Rabies.
