Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Investigation led to arrest of Juvenile

Reno, Nev. Sept. 14, 2018. The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, in conjunction with North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District determined that the cause of the ¼ acre Kennedy Drive Fire that started at approximately 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, September 13 was arson. 

Through a joint investigation between the two fire districts which included witness statements, and with the assistance of the Washoe County School District Police (WCSDPD), a 13-year old juvenile was arrested by WCSDP on two counts of arson. One count for the Kennedy Fire and one count for a fire discovered to have been started prior within a block of the Kennedy Fire.
