Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Northern Nevada agencies work together to prepare for winter season

Reno, Nev. Oct. 15, 2018. Local agencies will prepare and collaborate on snow removal efforts for the coming winter during the 2018 Northern Nevada Regional Snow Workshop, held Oct. 17-18, 2018 at the Regional Public Safety Training Center:

What: Northern Nevada Regional Snow Workshop

When: Media availability: Wed., Oct. 17, 2:00-3:00 p.m., EVOC skid pad demo area    

Who: Representatives will be available for interviews from the five partnering agencies: Washoe County, City of Reno, City of Sparks and Nevada Department of Transportation.                                                                                                                                 

Where: Regional Public Safety Training Center, 5190 Spectrum Blvd. Reno

Roadway maintenance representatives from the Washoe County, City of Reno, City of Sparks, Nevada Department of Transportation and Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority will come together for training, practical skills tests and more in preparation for the upcoming winter season.

The workshop will offer educational classes from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, where attendees can learn about weather and environmental concerns for winter operations and collaborate with snow removal operators from each of the different agencies in the northern Nevada region. The five entities operate under the Interlocal Agreement, which aims to keep the area’s major roads open in case of a massive snow event. The event is not open to the public.
