Reinforcement work to take place on Lemmon Drive, goal to re-open

Weather subsides, more barrier installed

Reno, Nev. March 15, 2019. Washoe County will be installing additional protections on Lemmon Drive in the form of concrete barriers to provide better safety for the traveling public, prevent damage to the HESCO barriers and help prevent further temporary closures for repair work.

The goal of the work is re-open Lemmon Drive as quickly as possible and ensure it is safe for the traveling public. Visible work along Lemmon Drive will begin as soon as Monday, March 18, 2019. Lemmon Drive is expected to open as soon as the concrete barriers are set in place.

Due to public safety, the following precautions have been put in place:

  • The speed limit will be 20 mph.
  • Washoe County Sherriff’s Office will increase patrols of the roadway.
  • Emergency service providers as well as the Washoe County School District have been informed.

For non-emergency questions relating to the re-opening of Lemmon Drive, please contact Washoe311, by dialing 3-1-1 from any phone or 775-328-2003.
