Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Washoe County Treasurer’s Office warns of scam involving tax liens on property

Reno, Nev. May 7, 2019. Washoe County is warning citizens about a scam involving a threat of collection of an IRS lien claiming to be sent from “Washoe County - Public Judgement Records”, a non-existent county department.

Citizens report that they are receiving a letter via mail claiming the IRS will levy property if the debt is not paid.

The Washoe County Treasurer’s Office encourages citizens to contact the Internal Revenue Service directly. Washoe County residents can also check their property tax status online at www.washocounty.us/treas or call the Treasurer’s Office at 775-328-2510.
