Washoe County Library System is excited to announce the launch of our 2019 Summer Reading Program on June 1!

Celebrate summer with Washoe County Library System's community-wide Summer Reading Program. This year's theme, A Universe of Stories, coincides with NASA's 60 years of achievement and its celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo moon landing.  This year's theme celebrates the universe of your imagination, as well as what happens among the stars. Dream, create and read with your library all summer long.

Please join the Washoe County Library System at a launch party, happening across the Library System.  Join us as we celebrate the theme with books, movies, music, fun events and activities for all ages! The Summer Reading Program, which will run from June 1 through July 31, 2019, is geared towards helping young children build reading and language skills, and to help prepare them for success by developing those skills at an early age. Summer Reading Programs also help motivate teens to read and discuss literature and encourage adults to experience the joy of reading. It is great for all ages!
