Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Galena Campfire Programs gets fired-up for summer on June 21

Reno, Nev. June 17, 2019. Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space, in partnership with Artown, invites the whole family to experience the Galena Campfire Programs, taking place at Eagle Meadow at Galena Creek Regional Park every Friday evening from June 21-August 2.

Galena Campfire Programs offers six weeks of fun with a range of entertainment, fun educational programs and marshmallow toasting, all taking place outdoors at Galena Creek Regional Park. Blankets, low-back chairs, bug spray and flashlights are recommended. Galena Campfire Programs are free to the public, however donations are encouraged. The community is welcome to arrive at the park early to barbeque, or bring a picnic dinner. Leashed dogs are welcome.

What: 2019 Galena Campfire Programs

Where: Galena Creek Regional Park north entrance at Eagle Meadow, above the Galena Creek Visitor Center, 18250 Mt. Rose Highway, Reno.

When: Free, family entertainment series with marshmallow roasting beginning at 8:00 p.m., and entertainment beginning at 8:30 p.m.

Program Schedule:

  • June 21: Brother Dan Palmer, modern Americana
  • June 28: Sage Creek, bluegrass extraordinaire
  • July 5: Tony Argento, tuned up and twisted cowboy poetry
  • July 12: Aria 51, ukulele music
  • July 19: Nevada Department of Agriculture presents: Forest Moths
  • July 26: Star gazing with the Astronomical Society of Nevada
  • August 2: Nevada Department of Wildlife presents: Fish in Nevada
