Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Scott Oxarart to handle communications, PIO duties

Reno, Nev. Sept. 30, 2019. The Washoe County Health Distirct (WCHD) has hired Scott Oxarart to be the new Communications Manager. Oxarart, who started this month, most recently worked at Sierra Nevada Corporation, with prior stints at the Washoe County Manager's Office and Renown Health.

As a courtesy, please send media inquries involving the Washoe County Health District to Oxarart first so they can be addressed as quickly as possible.

Please note that WCHD office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Calls outside business hours will be returned the following business day, except in instances of crisis communcation as directed by the Washoe County District Health Officer. Oxarart replaces Phil Ulibarri, who retired.

The Washoe County Health District has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County through the policy-making Washoe County District Board of Health. The District consists of five divisions: Administrative Health Services, Air Quality Management, Community and Clinical Health Services, Environmental Health Services and Epidemiology & Public Health Preparedness.
