Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Washoe County to move small sections of HESCO barriers around Swan Lake

Work to begin Thursday, October 15

Reno, Nev. Oct. 14, 2019. Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, October 15, Washoe County staff will continue work around Swan Lake, as part of the maintenance ahead of the winter season. Beginning at 7 a.m., crews will be moving a small section of HESCO barrier on Lemmon Dr., between Idaho St. and Oregon Blvd. and storing it for future use for high-priority areas in the winter season. A detour will be available from Waterash St. to Oregon Blvd. with work anticipated to be completed by 5 p.m.

Additionally, on Wednesday, October 16, crews will be moving HESCO barrier from Arkansas St. and storing it for future use during the winter season. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 5 p.m., no detour is needed during this time.

This work is to enhance protections around Swan Lake as part of the overall strategy ahead of the winter season. Protections around the lake are being monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure the safety of the community and the traveling public.
