Draft code language for short-term rentals now available online

21-day public comment period runs until Dec. 11, 2019

Reno, Nev. Nov. 20, 2019. Washoe County officials are in the process of establishing standards for short-term rentals (STRs) in unincorporated Washoe County, including Incline Village/Crystal Bay.

After several months of research, public engagement, and analysis, Washoe County staff created a series of STR recommendations that were considered by the Board of County Commissioners at their Nov. 12, 2019 meeting. Draft code language reflecting public input and Board direction is now available online for public comment until Dec. 11, 2019. Visit www.washoecounty.us/str for more information and to view the draft language.  Comments should be provided in writing to str@washoecounty.us no later than 5 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2019.

Following the 21-day comment period, the official public hearing process will begin, to include hearings by the Planning Commission and Board of County Commissioners in early 2020.

For questions or feedback on short-term rentals, please email str@washoecounty.us.
