Free Radon Programs Offered At Several Local Libraries

Learn About Radon in Washoe County.

January is National Radon Action Month and the Nevada Radon Education Program of University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE) will be offering informational presentations and free radon test kits at several local Washoe County Library locations during the months of January and February 2020.    In Washoe County, one in five homes tested show radon concentrations at or above the EPA action level.   A simple three-day test can determine if a house has a radon problem, and winter is an ideal time to test a home for radon. If radon problems are found, they can be fixed. Learn more about the effects and the risk of radon-caused lung cancer at these upcoming informational presentations.
