Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Washoe County is Seeking Applicants to Serve on the Washoe County Planning Commission

Vacancy is to Represent At-Large South of the Truckee River

 

The Washoe County Planning Commission hears and decides on applications for abandonments, certain special use permits, and tentative subdivisions; the Commission also makes recommendations concerning the County’s Master Plan, regulatory zone changes, and County’s land use regulations.  This appointment is to fill a full term in the unincorporated portion of Washoe County – At-Large South of the Truckee River, commencing on July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2024.  Unincorporated South of the Truckee River generally includes all areas of unincorporated Washoe County south of the Truckee River and includes Incline Village and Crystal Bay.

Membership Requirements

Applicants for the Planning Commission must be residents of unincorporated Washoe County and the area from which they are to be appointed (South of the Truckee River) as described above and per map link: https://www.washoecounty.us/bcc/files/commission_district_map_2019.pdf.  They must also be registered voters.  The voter registration requirement may be waived by the Washoe County Board of Commissioners.  The Planning Commission regularly meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Washoe County Commission Chambers.  Meetings average 2 to 3 hours in duration.  At times, special meetings of the Commission may be called by the Chair.  Each member of the Planning Commission is compensated $80 per meeting attended.
