Reno, Nev. April 10, 2020. In alignment with Governor Sisolak’s recent directive, and to protect parks staff and public, Washoe County Parks and Open Space will be closing the following amenities within our parks until further notice:

  • Restrooms – please “Go Before You Go”
  • Trash Service – please “Pack it in, Pack it out”
  • Water Fountains
  • Playgrounds
  • Skate Parks
  • Ballfields (baseball, soccer, flat fields)
  • Basketball Courts
  • Volleyball areas
  • Horseshoe Pits
  • Tennis/Pickleball Courts
  • Golf courses, including disc golf
  • Individual and Group Picnic Areas
  • Park Facilities

While all Washoe County parks and trails remain open, officials urge parkgoers to please practice social distancing and avoid close contact with others. The CDC recommends a minimum of 6 feet distance to help reduce the risk of spread between individuals. In addition, please do not congregate in groups of 10 or more.

Park officials recommend visiting parks or trails near your home. Additionally, all park rules and regulations still apply, and please leash dogs, clean up after them and keep dogs off athletic fields.
