Kate Marshall and the United Way of Northern NevadaWashoe County awarded $95,000 to the Moonridge Foundation to facilitate the programThe donation was part of Washoe County’s CARES Act funding specifically dedicated to supporting residents and businesses during the pandemic.

City of Reno began its partnership with the program in July. The city’s $50,000 donation will support the program through the end of this year. City of Sparks joined earlier this month with a $100,000 grant, which will provide for the delivery of more than 15,00meals.

"It has been my honor to work with fellow public servants at Washoe County, City of Sparks, and City of Reno to ensure that our community has access to food during this incredibly tough time. No one should have to forgo a meal just because they are at an increased risk for COVID-19,” Marshall said. “Delivering with Dignity is such an important program that serves local families with food from local independently-owned restaurants. It’s a win-win.”

Delivering With Dignity sources meals from local restaurants, providing high-quality food for low-income or otherwise vulnerable residents who cannot leave their homes during the pandemic. Liberty Food & Wine Exchange was the first restaurant to provide meals for the program, and as Delivering With Dignity has expanded, additional local restaurants have been added
