Holiday Closures
On Wednesday, December 24, all libraries will close early — at 4 pm — except the Gerlach Community Library, the Verdi Community Library and Nature Center, and the Duncan/Traner Community Library, which will be closed all day, and the Senior Center library which will close at its usual time of 1 pm. All Washoe County Library locations will be closed Thursday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday.

All Washoe County Libraries Closed on Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19, 2021.

In observance of Juneteenth ( also known as Freedom Day and Emanicipation Day), all Washoe County Libraries will be closed on Friday, June 18, and Saturday, June 19, 2021, in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday. Now an official Federal and County Holiday. President Joe Biden signed legislation establishing June 19, Juneteenth, as a new federal holiday.
