Pled Guilty to Lewdness with a Child Under 14

A Sparks man that pled guilty to one count of Lewdness with a Child Under the Age of 14 and one count Attempted Lewdness with a Child Under the Age of 14, has been sentenced to a maximum penalty of life in prison. Based on the sentence imposed by the court, 46-year-old Nathan Wetherbee (dob 6/21/77) will be eligible for parole after 18 years.

Following a 2021 report of past sexual assault, Sparks Police Department detectives uncovered four children who Wetherbee sexually molested on various occasions between 2014 to 2017.

For sentencing, three of the victims provided statements to the court, discussing the impacts of the abuse on their lives.

The Honorable Judge Scott Freeman presided and imposed the sentence.
