Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Big Vote Little Excuse: What’s your excuse not to vote?

Reno, Nevada. May 3, 2016. Washoe County is collaborating with community partners to promote Big Vote Little Excuse in an effort to encourage all citizens to use their voice and vote in the 2016 Primary and General Elections. The deadline for Washoe County residents to register to vote in the Primary Election is May 14, 2016. The Primary Election is June 14, 2016.

“People can still register or update their information in person at the Washoe County Registrar’s Office until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24,” Washoe County Registrar of Voters Luanne Cutler said. “They can also register on the Nevada Secretary of State's website. We encourage everyone to come and, of course, vote.”

To register in person:

  • Registrar of Voters Office is located at 1001 E. Ninth St., Building A, 1st floor, Reno
  • Office hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed holidays.

Several early voting sites will be open on Sundays again this year. The exact hours and locations of the early voting sites are available on the Registrar’s website at a later date.

Important dates to know

  • May 14 - Last day to register to vote by mail or with any outside agency.
  • May 24 - Last day to register in person (Registrar of Voters Office only) or online (www.registertovoteNV.gov).  
  • May 28 - Early voting starts
  • June 7 - Last day to request an absentee ballot.
  • June 14 - Primary Election Day
