Downtown Reno Library Elevator News
Due to ongoing construction, the elevator at the Downtown Reno Library is currently not in service. Computers and restrooms are available on the main level for patrons who are unable to use the stairs, and staff can assist with retrieving materials from other levels.

Deadline to register to vote is fast-approaching

The deadline to register to vote by mail or with an outside agency is Oct. 11, 2016

Reno, Nevada. Sept. 21, 2016. Washoe County is reminding residents that the deadline to register to vote for the General Election by mail or with an outside agency is Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016.  

“It’s important to remember that you must be registered to participate in the upcoming November 8th election,” Washoe County Registrar Luanne Cutler said. “Equally as important is that each voter is registered at their current address. It affects who you’ll vote for and where you’ll be voting. If you’re not sure your information is current, you can verify that by entering your last name and date of birth on Washoe County’s website.”

  • Registrar of Voters Office is located at 1001 E. Ninth St., Building A, 1st floor, Reno
  • Office hours: Open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed holidays.

Important dates to know
  • Oct. 11 - Last day to register to vote by mail or with any outside agency
  • Oct. 18 - Last day to register in person (Registrar of Voters Office only)
  • Oct. 22 - Early voting begins
  • Nov. 1 - Last day to request an absentee ballot
  • Nov. 4 - Last day to vote early
  • Nov. 8 - General Election Day
